I've tried using the hot comb,and the hair dryer but she sweats alot and it makes it worst.Ican't even put her hair in ponytails,i have to keep it braided,which is not a problem but I like to do different things with her hair,she has alot of hair,PLEASE some one help me P.S we are woman of color.

dont get relaxers. hot combs are old school. i am 18 and i havent had a relaxer since i was 12 or 13. my hair is all natural now. i use a really good flat iron. its called the sedu. go to www.folica.com and you will see it. it costs about 125. but it is by far the best flat iron. i have tried several and i love this one. i have a head full of thick kinky hair you know 'nappy' i hate that word, but i get my hair straight in about an hour and it stays that way for about a week or 2. also you need to buy something that will help keep her hair staight. i use this stuff called beyond straight. i can even get a few sprinkles of rain on my hair and it stays straight. the website is www.maxiusbeauty.com. dont buy the flat iron though. i tried it, it worked good but it kept breaking. feel free to email at Lashayrhena@yahoo.com and we can talk more.

also when i used to wear my hair natural, i used this product called stay soft fro, but it looks like sta-sof-fro, that helped make my hair manageable. also used gel, but not haird gel. it was called jam, it was kind og like grease and gel mixed together. when wearing your hair natural it is best to stay away from grease, especially since she has thick hair. grease made my hair heavy, but now that i straighten it i use it on my scalp before i flat iron, it makes it look better. stick to sprays when she is going natural. and maybe some oil sheen

There is a product out there made especially for little girls called PCJ. Soft Sheen Carson also has one... the name escapes me. These products relax and soften without all the harsh chemicals of adult products. They give sheen, luster, manageability and also moisturize. Before purchasing the product and using it... ask your local beautician they may have other options and suggestions.

I think you should probably get a very mild relaxer in her hair. Make sure you get it done by a professional so it is done correctly. That way, you should wash her hair maybe about once a week or once every week and a half. After you wash it make sure you grease it or moisturize it so it wont be so coarse. Then BLOW DRY it. I know you said that you have already tryed to blow dry it ,but trust me, if you do it correctly then you shouldnt have a problem. And since it will be relaxed then it should straighten much easier and faster.If you want it to be extra straight then go flat iron it after blow drying,( make sure you use a ceramic iron it will work miracles)! I like the "Control Freak" products by Bed Head. While I'm not a woman of color, I have unbelievably thick, coarse, frizzy hair. There are four Control Freak products: a Shampoo, Conditioner, Leave in Conditioner and a spray that you can use on dry hair - these products were all designed to help straighten and smooth out of control hair and I have found them to be very beneficial. I also bought a Chi Hair Straightener, it was expensive (about $135.00) but it works better and faster than any other iron I've ever owned. I hope this helps!

Try a texturizer. It will loosen the kink/curls and soften it up a little bit. That should make combing and styling a little more manageable. Also make sure you keep her hair conditioned. Good luck!
