Alright, I know this will seem real gay and whatever but here goes! I am mixed and I have like a short cut, now for an entire year im letting my hair grow out. I want to get like braids or something but I grew out my hair before for about 5 months and it was really really curly and I dont like that. I need help... what do I do!
Mixed(Multiracial) Hair Problem!!!?
braids will work in biracial hair even if it is curly...you just have to find someone that can braid.....my lil sister is really good with braiding hair...she has two children, and she can really come up with some cute braided hairstyles....you dont want to put any chemicals on your hair to straighten it because that will damage your hair..you already have a good grade of hair, dont ruin it...just find someone who knows how to braid.

You need to go to a multicultural salon and get a consultation. They will be able to help you....
The GuRu person has a good idea, if you like the curls. I thought you said you don't want curls.... Sorry.
I'm half cuban, so I have a pretty tight head of curls when I don't get it straightened. I'm jus sayin....

That florida chica person doesnt know what their talking about. You should use soft-sheen-carson's sta so fro and use that in your hair with a pick as it grows out so it will look like a fro.

best thing to do is go for for some molding wax of some sort like beeswax or loc-ing cream (like dread loc creme) to create twists in your hair until it reaches a length that is suitable for braiding.

Ok, you are miced race so whichever parent that is black has the stronger gene (where your hair is concerened anyway). Your hair will always go back to curly, you cannot change that. The only way you can change it is to have it relaxed, which would make it dead straight or have it texturised, which will loosen the curl pattern. These are chemicals, if you are going to have your hair chemically treated you need to bear in mind you will need to have regular trims to take off the split ends and treatments to add moisture to your hair that is lost during the chemical process. If you don't want your hair to go back curly the only other options are to go to the salon and get your hair blowdried with a brush (preferably a Denman or Paddle Brush) this will starighten the hair out. Alternatively you can get it straightened with straighteners. Make sure when you shampoo your hair you use a conditioner after especialliy if you decide to chemically treate your hair. If you go into a salon enure it is a salon that deals with afro hair some salons only deal with afro some only european hair and some deal with both. You hair is classed as afro hair. Hope this has helped. : )

i am bi racial and had braids back in the day. if your hair is at least 2 inches long you can get it braided like Iverson of the Denver nuggets basket ball team. All i can say is to go to a women's salon, preferably a salon where Hispanic or Black women go and ask how much they charge for corn rolls or french braids. it shouldn't be that much to have your hair done.
i hope this helps.
