What do I do with my hair?

I'm a African American teenager and I don't know what to do with my hair. I live in Georgia, where its very humid. I have gone natural, bone straight, extention braids and I don't know how to take care of my hair. Going natural was the easiest for me to style, but I like to play with my hairstyles, and don't want to keep my hair one way for too long. Right now I'm relaxing my hair about once every 4-5 weeks. WHen I relax my hair, the only way I feel like I can do my hair is to bump the ends and wear it straight. I want to be able to wrap my hair, but I dont know how to. What should I do about my thick unmanagable hair?

What do I do with my hair?

well wraping your hair is easy if you get used to doing it. i have bone straight hair and i get i wrap. i wear my wrap basically all the time after i get a relaxer. go to the shop and they can show you how to wrap it wet or dry. i put the little bump on top of my head, headbands. ponytails. messy updos, i use simple things like that to change up my hairstyles.

Curly hair and travelling?

OK my hair has a wild wave to it so I blow dry and straighten it everyday but I am planning to travel for a year and don't feel like waisting my time doing this everyday so does anyone have any suggestions for hair styles that would help as I cannot stand my hair as is..? Permantly straighten, some kind of perm(not grandma kind), braid extensions, extensions.. so on.. Any ideas??

Curly hair and travelling?

Wear a bandana

Curly hair and travelling?

casual bun with a loose strand framing your face. easy, casual look, goes with anything.

Curly hair and travelling?

I wouldn't permanently straighten your hair. I did that to my hair and messed it up real bad. I have tried it more then once. The first time was okay but it really damages your hair and then second time was a disaster. I have also used home kits to relax my hair and they do work but they are also very damaging to your hair. If you want to keep your hair healthy then just put in in a pony, bun or some type of hairstyle that will keep your hair out of your face. I have very curly hair but now I prefer to just keep it curly because it is easier to care for healthy hair then damaged dead hair. Also, the Aussie haircare products work great in my hair and I've tried everything!

I am growing my hair out. But I am prone to migraine headaches.?

I know, weird, but true.

I have to keep my hair free from my eyes and face.

I usually stick my hair up into a pony tail.

It seems to be almost like a given.

I hack all my hair off, then want it long again. I grow it out and then fut it all off again.

I don't want to cut it anymore, and I canb't wear my hair in a pony tail because it is permanently denting my hair. (This happens everytime I grow my hair out.)

Any style suggestions to keep my hair out of my eyes without putting it up in a pony tail?

Braids are out of the question, head ache city!

Thanks for your suggestions.

if you like pomade, you can use the Indian Hemp (Hair and Scalp Treatment), for some reasons, it grows out your hair. Keep your hair moisturize all the time (especially the ends. Use moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Put some aloe vera liquid on your shampoo, it will make your hair strong. You can get the liquid by peeling the aloe vera and blend it in the blender, then pour that liquid (a small amount (not all of it) in your shampoo). Hope that helps.

How can i make my hair grow longer and faster linke before the end of this summer before school starts?

Take daily multivitamins and get LOTS of protein, vitamin C and vitamin E. You need to use a deep conditioner regularly to keep the ends from splitting so you don't lose your hard-earned length! The braiding and the relaxers are SOOO hard on your hair. For next time, pick only one and stick to it.

My hair is damaged?

i colored my hair twice and now my hair is damaged . and i would like to know what can i do to make my hair grow back. i hate weave so please dont tell me to braid whats left on my head.

My hair is damaged?

First of all, You need to go get the damaged hair cut off.... I chemically strainghtened my hair twice, dyed it 3 times, strainghted nearly daily with with straightening iron and put TONS of gel in my hair. Trust me, my hair was DAMAGED! I got all the damaged stuff cut off and started using creams (sunsilk is awesome gethairapy.com) and started taking these pills called Extreme Biotin 1500 mcg by Rexall. I got it from walmart. Those pills promote healthier hair, nails and skin. It has helps my hair AND nails grow back a lot faster! Be sure to brush your hair daily. I know that the 100 strokes thing sounds retarded, but it distributes the oils through your hair whitch also helps your hair out.

My hair is damaged?

Pro-V...or ur just gonna have to grow it out and let it be

My hair is damaged?

gurl, you need to go to a beauty salon and ask the people who work there to help you, i dont personally know of what will make hair grow, but if its damaged, im pretty sure a beuty salon worker can help you.

My hair is damaged?

You can put a deep conditioner in your hair every week. It should be about 2.99 plus tax. But every week wash you and put deep conditioner in your hair for about a hour and stay under a heating cap.

My hair is damaged?

To get your natural hair back, you just have to grow it out. To keep what you have in good condition, though, while you wait, only shampoo your hair twice a week, but use a conditioner daily in the shower on the ends of your hair to keep it soft and manageable. A very good and cheap one to try is Queen Helene's Cholesterol. You can use it everyday, and then weekly as a hair mask (just leave it on a few hours once a week). You can buy it for about $4.00 at WalMart. Keep your styling to a minimum as "overworking" your hair damages it further.

My hair is damaged?

You can use a deep conditioning treatment to repair you hair. You also might want to look into a hot oil treatment.

My hair is damaged?

Hi Brooklyn

Have you tried Henna wax, its in a large tub and like a creamy wax. You put it n your hair and either put a hot Towel or tin foil around your head and leave for 15/20Min's. You need to use it a few times. My hair started to fall out with stress and that's what i got i really recommend it. You could try it won't do you any harm

My hair is damaged?

there are lots of shampoos you can buy to repair your damaged hair. try those and see if it works

My hair is damaged?

Whatever hair that was colored on you head (twice?) has been over processed. You are just going to wait until it grows out. Recoloring you hair is going to be very tempting, but you going to have to wait before it grows out then get a real good hair cut. For now, try messaging your roots and lots of treatment and see a PROFESSIONAL next time.

My hair is damaged?

I use the shampoo Pantene moisturiser (the brown one), followed by the leave-in conditioner (pantene moisturiser as well). It's fantastic. You should see some result in the texture of your hair the same day. And just wait til it grows back. Hope this helps and good luck.

My hair is damaged?

I am beautician, and many things can be causing damage to your hair. One of the first ways to help repair your hair would be to purchase a professional color safe shampoo %26amp; conditioner. I would recommend Paul Mitchell Color Protect. Another way is to begin by identifying the cause of damage. It may not be because your hair is colored. If your hair is braking off it is because your hair is lacking protein. You need a good shampoo and conditioner that adds protein, I suggest Paul Mitchell Strength - it is great. I would also recommend getting some moisture in it, I suggest Paul Mitchell Awapuii daily shampoo %26amp; conditioner. A good to start repairing your hair is by getting a deep condition by a professional. For example Paul Mitchel has many that can be mixed to accomodate all your problems. DO NOT BUY STORE BRANDS. I KNOW THEY ARE CHEAPER BUT YOU WILL RUIN YOUR HAIR MORE. STORE BRANDS HAVE LOTS OF BACTERIA AND LEAVE HORRIBLE RESIDUE THAT WILL ONLY MAKE IT WORSE. I HAVE SEEN HORRIFIC AMOUNTS OF BUILD UP SCRAPED OFF OF CLIENTS HAIR FROM STORE BRANDS. Remeber, 99% of professional products are guaranteed so if they don't work bring them back. But remember when switching to a professional product you need to use it for at least 2 weeks to really make a difference. Just an added note if you do purchase Paul Mitchel products they are guaranteed. But DO NOT BUY THEM FROM THE GROCERY STORE BECAUSE THEY ARE EXPIRED, COUNTERFEIT OR HAVE ADDITIVES IN THEM WHICH CAN RUIN YOUR HAIR.

My hair is damaged?

The best thing for you to use is Bead Head Dumb Blonde shampoo and conditioner, it is one of the best and no you don't have to be a blonde to use it. It is a reconstructor a lot of deep conditioners etc only sit on your hair while the dumb blonde actually goes into it and helps it. You can buy them both or just the conditioner the combo cost about $20 at any salon.

Barettes, headbands. You can also use a 'gripper comb' ... any size ... to hold your hair. Get different 'colors' and styles so you can 'fix' your hair and look 'different' ... also, you can just 'wear it down' unless you have a gym class. Get a good 'terry cloth elastic' headband to keep your hair back and out of your face during gym class, so you don't 'crash and burn' because you can't see well enough.

I got 3 or 4 inches off my hair (two days ago at my haircut) and now I don't know what to do with it?

Experiment with a differnt sized curling irons, and try using some small barrettes or clips in different sections ie- clip the top back, or swoop it to the side, try it straightened and curly. Just get in the mirror and start picking back a piece at a time to see what it looks like, then before you know it, you'll begin that fun and creative new hairstyle process. Sounds cute!

straighten it %26amp; gel it i just cut five inches off of my head and it great i just do the same things i did with my hair long and it looks totally different because it 's shorter but yeah

I would like to grow the relaxer out of my hair?

I would like to grow the relaxer out of my hair, but i keep having trouble deciding what to do with my hair during the interim period. I was thinking I could wear a full hear sew in weave that I had re-done ever six weeks for a year to eighteen months straight in order to get me through. I had though about braids but braids just arent that cute to me anymore and I am a starting my career as a lawyer and believe that a weave will look more professional and polished than braids. Also if anyone could recommend a good stylist that specializes in hair extensions especially sew ins in Detroit, Cleveland, or New York City would be great. Also I was thinking of buying pretty expensive hair so that it would last longer, am i making sense please give input.

I would like to grow the relaxer out of my hair?

I think that you should do the sew in weave because your giving hair a break. BUT, you must take of your hair while wearing the sew in. Ppl tend to forget their hair while wearing sew ins and as an African American women, we must apply moisture to our hair. It won't grow healthly if it's dry. I don't think braids are girly IMO. And as a lawyer you know that you have to present yourself as a professional. I'm not saying that braids can't look professional, I think microbraids looks better than cornrows. You can style microbraids but I like sew ins better. I'm a paramedic so I know not wear "my Saturday harstyles" i.e red hair, big ponytails, etc. I'm the sew in queen because it's very conveinent(spelling) for me. My hair is as long as the weave that I wear(I buy 16-18in and wear a long Ciara kind of wrap style) but I like to be able to unwrap my hair and go. I think a cute bob will look nice for you career start. I buy Remy hair or new premium yaki. Please don't buy hair that doesn't match, like that silky straight mess. You want your hair to look very natural, not fake. I live in Pittsburgh so I can't recommend a stylist for you, my stylist is BAD. I've been going to her for over 4 years. If you like I can email you my hair care routine. My hair is healthy because I make sure that I take care of it with and without a weave. Oh and if you have thick hair make sure that they braid your hair in small braids because once your hair starts to grow you don't want your weave to lumpy. And I normally get my hair redone about every 6-8 wks. No more than 8 wks because you don't want your hair to start matting under the weave. And everytime you remove the weave make sure that you get a good deep conditioner and get you end trim as needed. And you have to give your hair a break from the weave from time to time or your hair can become unhealthy-I ound that out the hard way too! If you have any more questions let me know. Good luck and Merry Xmas, Nina J

Straight hair and Split ends?

A lot of girls at my school wear relaxers. At the same time, I cannot stop noticing how many split ends and rough ends they have. Why do they have all those splits/rough ends. My hair is naturally curly and it's virgin hair. I bought a hair iron and some heat protecting cream to straighten my hair.I am scared not because I don't want to have all of those ugly split ends. My hair is properly moisturized, washed(once a week), and I wear a loose braid and a silk scarf.

Straight hair and Split ends?

I'm not the best person to answer this question ... being a guy and white, but I hang out with some guys that own a very popular local hair place. According to them too much heat will shred your hair, so take care with that new hair iron. Oh, and tight corn rolls will turn your hair into broom straw ... your loose braids probably really save you some hair damage. Hair relaxers ... think about this ... they are chemicals that partially chemically melt your hair to take the curl out. You could imagine this would also be kind of hard on the hair. I guess if you don't want those split ends you are going to have to do your own thing and not follow the frizzy crew ... good luck, keep it curly.

Straight hair and Split ends?

You have to trim 1/4 inch off the ends every month and every time you relax it.

Straight hair and Split ends?

more than likely they are using home kits, insted of going to a har salon and getting it done thr right way. also it could be from heat due to curling the hair. i only know because my step sisters hair is like that. thank god my hair is naturally curly and i can blow dry it straight

Straight hair and Split ends?

The relaxers are like a perm it is a chemical that's why their hair is damaged.

Sally's Beauty Supply has a lot of good stuff to use to keep healthy hair while using the iron.

Mary Jane :)

Straight hair and Split ends?

Relaxed hair = split ends. The chemicals in the relaxer fries the hair so that the curl is gone. I have curly hair, too, and to prevent split ends when using a flat iron, put any kind of gel, straightener, or heat protecting cream on your hair to keep the iron from stripping your hair of it's natural oils. If you put some kind of product on your hair, it will fry off that before it fries off your hair's oils and damages your hair. You can also skip a day or two between washing your hair, and give it a chance to create more of the oils. By the way, these oils are good. The loose braid is great for your hair, I do the same thing with mine at night, to stop breakage. And the silk scarf is good too, you can actually style your hair the night before and wrap it in a silk scarf and it will be perfect when you wake up in the morning.

Hope this helps!

Ok i tried getting my hair wavy but....?

ok i tried putting in stay in conditioner and putting in a braid over night letting it down putting mousse and slight hair spray i went to school but now im home and its super straight again like hay does anyone know how to do it other way WITHOUT getting a PERM or curling it with a CURLING IRON (it ruins my hair it burns it and it makes it so frizzy) nothing seems to work to give me that wavy/curly look???

Ok i tried getting my hair wavy but....?

You could try getting your hair wet at night then putting in foam rollers in for the night.

Those big velcro rollers.

Leave it in french braids over night when it is wet then in the morning it will be kinda wild so then put in leave-in-conditioner and brush it.

There are curling products like Big Sexy Hair.

They have curling shampoos and conditioners.

If you put some kind of protection in your hair every time you curl your hair won't frizz or get split ends or break.

I use Chi hair gel and it works amazingly!

When you do your hair don't use too many products or your hair will get really oily and it will frizz!

Good Luck!

Strawberry Shortcake 閳俱儮娅忛埦?br>Ok i tried getting my hair wavy but....?

Braid it when it's wet and let it dry in the braid. I also have Raggety Andy-straight hair and that is the only way I can get it to hold any wave for the whole day. It generally takes two days for my hair to dry though.

Ok i tried getting my hair wavy but....?

The leave in conditioner will make your hair get even straighter. Try using a spray gel in when it's wet, and then reapply it or use a strong, flexible hold hairspray in the morning. I recommend Garnier Fructis's curl-shaping spray gel or their Shake Effect liquid gel (which has a stronger hold and will give you more texture). Good luck!

Ok i tried getting my hair wavy but....?

You could try LARGE velcro rollers. Not sure they'd be much fun to sleep on though! I'm assuming since you don't want to use a curling iron that you also don't want to use a crimper with a wave attachment. Without the use of a heating implement or a perm, I'm not sure there is much you can do other than rollers or braiding.

Ok i tried getting my hair wavy but....?

Was it french braids? They always work for me. Here is how I keep the curl for a long time:

-Take a shower

-Do TWO FRENCH braids while you're is still wet

-Use hairspray before, during, and after you've braided

-Sleep in them

-Leave the braids in for a day

-Sleep in them again

-Take them out in the morning (like as you're driving to school)

-Use no other products, but a few spritz of hairspray

(if you can't go that long without washing your, either wash with the braids, or do it in the morning so it is only one night.)

Good Luck!!! (((it'll look great!!!)

(*you can also try curling products (like the Sexy hair brand works good, another option is using sponge rollers, there is no heat, just your wet hair and some curlers)

Ok i tried getting my hair wavy but....?

The braid is good but your technique isnt:

Try this:

The Plait Option..

Wash your hair as normal then towel dry, leaving it slightly damp.

Lightly spray your hair with sea-salt spray and comb through hair.

Divide your hair into four sections by first halving the hair in the middle, then again on each half.

Plait each of the four sections. It doesn't have to be be perfect. Slightly messy plaits will make the waves look more natural.

Wait until your hair is completely dry the undo the plates and gently separate the waves.

Spray lightly with a serum and lightly tousle

Ok i tried getting my hair wavy but....?

you can also get your hair in sections and just twist it all the way until you can twist it tight and fastened it with bobby pins over night and your hair will look nice in the morning but make sure to wet hair first

Ok i tried getting my hair wavy but....?

If you try gel (after your hair has been freshly washed) instead of conditioner and THEN braiding it, that should work! It works for me and sounds like we have the same kind of hair. Also try a waver! I like the kind that Sally's Beauty Supply sells, because they're only $20 and they work really really really well!

I have long long hair, what's some cool ways to put it up?

My hair is super straight, which looks nice down but it's also very thick and I'm in Texas and it's summer and it's way too hot for this. Any good ideas for cool hair-do's that wont fall out all day that will be off my back? I already do a bun and braids but they pull back from my face and give my hair no volume, since I wear no make-up, It's not a really good look for me. I was considering cutting my bangs? My boyfriend thinks this is gross and doesn't want me to cut my hair at all. I wouldn't mind if I could find cool ways to put it up. Help Please!

I have long long hair, what's some cool ways to put it up?

Try parting your hair in the middle before you put it up, instead of pulling it straight back. It' s less severe, but a bit

'Little House on the Prairie".

1] chignon

2] french twist

3] pull back, twist, fold in half, and add barette to hold up.

4] one high, off center ponytail

5] one high braid

Bangs flatter most of us. They accent the face, and enhance the eyes.Try a few wispy ones at the salon to see how you like them. [ Is your hair long enough to pull up over your forehead? It will look even better than that. ]

It's your hair - you decide.

I have long long hair, what's some cool ways to put it up?

i've seen a few really cool hairstyles- pick up this month's Glamour magazine- they have great ideas for up dos! some really cool twisty buns- they look super hot and really great for summer.

I have long long hair, what's some cool ways to put it up?

me too i liv in texas i got that mexican hair long and thick i put my hair in a high lose ponytail or two pigtail braids

I have long long hair, what's some cool ways to put it up?

Your hair must be something if your boyfriend doesn't want you to cut it. Tie your hair in a high ponytail. It will be off your back plus, it would look sexy. It also gives volume. Everything you want!

I have long long hair, what's some cool ways to put it up?

u can try the chinese chopsticks kinda style... it adds a nice touch when wearing brite colors.

I have long long hair, what's some cool ways to put it up?

use a ponytail to put your hair up

I have long long hair, what's some cool ways to put it up?

I also have the same problem!! I'm into the retro pin up look so you may not like my idea's. I usually pull my hair up into some crazy twist but don't perfect it. Some times I also take like bandanna's and use them to hold my hair up and it tie a bow/not in the front and let like some of my hair show. I also just every once in a while curl it and throw it up because it doesn't make my hair as flat.

low braid off to side. I wear ! french braid styled to the side so the helmet can easily slide on and off. Maybe instead of just a ponytail do a crimped ponytail.

Hair??????

buy those soft curlers and sleep in them. it is soooo easy and you save so much time in the morning. you just take them out and only brush the top of your hair otherwise you brush right through the curls. then use hairspray, not mousse. ive found that a great brand of hairspray is matrix hairspray. and for looser, messier curls, you separate each curl in two. it is a more casual, less shirley temple look.

then for waves, sleep in braids. (the number depending on how wavy you want your hair. i would probably recommend about eight or so) then you just take them out in the morning and just brush the top of your hair. you can use hairspray, but i usually dont need it, but then again, my hair holds waves really well......

and if you shower in the morning, scrunch your hair with mousse and it looks pretty good but might get a little frizzy.

and as for just regular hairstyles, i would try sidebangs or whispy bangs instead of thick ones......dont know about the cut i might have to see the shape of your face, sry....

you can also do buns, because they are pretty in, or low pigtails, but you might be a little old for them, but my sister in college looks cute in them so i dont know.....

as for hairbands, very cute and in!!! definitely!!!

u could wear your hair half-up, leaving your bangs down.....

hope i helped!!! good luck!!!

You could;

2 braids with red ribbons or whatever your team color is

2 french braids

Bun with peices pulled out

side ponytail

What are the best type of hair barrette's to use on a child who has thick fluffy curly hair?

My two year old daughter has beautiful curly hair, but it is very thick, with lots of volume. She loves hair accessories, but I can't seem to find a brand of barrette that will actually stay tight in her hair. I have tried to persuade her to love headbands, and she does, but she also loves barrettes, and braid's with beads.... She is very into clothes and matching hair, shoes, and jewelery.....

What are the best type of hair barrette's to use on a child who has thick fluffy curly hair?

My child has thick curly hair too. I've found that any child's barettes don't work in her hair, I use adult ones. There are lots of pretty adult ones out there. I can't use the adult ones myself because my hair is too thick and they break. The kid's ones break or won't hold my daughter's hair. Also, I use just a touch of mousse in my daughter's hair, it's helped a lot since her hair will retain styles better once it is dry.

What are the best type of hair barrette's to use on a child who has thick fluffy curly hair?

Use any ones but use bobby-pins that match her hair color and lots of hair spray.

What are the best type of hair barrette's to use on a child who has thick fluffy curly hair?

Your best bet is to try jaw clips that are decorative. Scunci has a lot of nice styles and is available at drugstores. As for hair ties, use the kind with no metal on it. It's so much more gentle on the thick curls. I wish they had those around when I was young! Nobody knew what to do with the bush on my head! hahah.

What are the best type of hair barrette's to use on a child who has thick fluffy curly hair?

How about trying to put her hair in a ponytail with the covered elastics and just using the cute barrettes she likes on the side of her head as a decoration?

How can u grow hair back?

you see ive been putting in braids every week for the past four weeks and when i comb through my hair a whole bunch comes out is it because of the braids and if so should i get a perm or what should i do and i also wanna know how to grow it back cause it got a little thinner n shorter im 13 is these really normal

How can u grow hair back?

Hey honey... I've been where you're at 1000 times over :)

1) Consider that your hair sheds over 100-200 strands every day. If you have braids in for 1 week, your hair can't shed for that week. But when they come out, that's over 1000 strands that you'll be shedding!

You might also want to try:

2) Getting your ends clipped. Healthy ends are the key to healthy hair!

3) Are you trying to go natural? If you are, you are going to be losing a lot of the permed part of your hair as your natural hair grows in. This is a good thing since you want to get rid of the permed hair anyhow!

4) If you're not trying to go natural, remember that in order to keep healthy (permed) hair, you need to be getting a touch up (at the latest) at least every 8 weeks, otherwise like I said above, the permed part will start to break off.

5) Remember to give your hair a rest in between wearing braids for extended periods of time. Your scalp needs to breath too!

6) Remember to wait AT LEAST 2 weeks after getting a perm before you put braids in. Your hair is REALLY weak right after you perm it and braiding it would cause it a lot of stress which equals breakage.

last thing:

MICROS ARE THE DEVIL!!! If you're wearing micros, that probably the problem right there. Micro braids are one of the most unhealthy things Black ppl can do to their hair.

Good luck, hon!!

How can u grow hair back?

try not putting your hair in braids for a few days and see how that works, or you could talk to an adult about it. ya never know, they might have some pretty good suggestions.

How can u grow hair back?

im 13 and i used to have the same problem until i got a perm.If or when you get a perm . Wash you hair every week and put treatment on it and dont use any products like gel because its makes your hair dry and flacky.

How can u grow hair back?

Maybe it's because the braids are too tight. If that's the problem you shouldn't get a perm, it could make it all fall out. Maybe start training it, combing it and greasing it on an every other day to day basis. I started doing that when I turned 13(I'm 15 now and I hate I started growing it out). Then some people jus have hair that breaks for no reason, it depends on who you are.

Hair help please!!!!?

Hey, i am looking for someways to wear my hair. I wear it down straight, down scrunched, and in a ponytail. I really can't where braids because i have layers kinda and they stick out from the braids. I have to the center of my back, brown, layered ,thick hair. Please Help.

Thanks

Hair help please!!!!?

Low, curled pigtails are cute. Also the messy bun. Love that and Half up scrunched or straight.

For pigtails all you do is curl your hair like you would any other day and part it to the side so that the pigtails are uneven and put them in ponytail holders so your hair rests on your shoulders.

For the messy bun, don't brush your hair at all. Flip over so that your hair is in the front of your face, gather your hair and pull it into a bun (it doesn't matter if its neat or not). Use bobby pins to pin up any hair left hanging down.

For half up, scrunch or straighten hair as normal. Then pull top layer of hair back into a high ponytail.

Hope this helps! ;)

Hair help please!!!!?

Try pulling it like you were putting it in a pony tail, but instead of completely pulling it through the final step of the pony tail, twist it 1/2 way and then pull 1/2 of it through.. to where the ends stick out from the top of the "bun/ponytail"..

My hair's in microbraids & one fell out from the root at the front of my hairline. Now ther

This has happened a couple times over the years. Does it mean I'll eventually go bald if I keep wearing braids? What can I do about it? I wash my hair a few times per week and spray twice daily with a leave in conditioner/Wave Nouveau.

My hair's in microbraids %26amp; one fell out from the root at the front of my hairline. Now there's a bald spot.

i have had braids since i was 5. and its common for braids to slip tracks, however, if it is taking your hair out also, you may want to try bigger braids. microbraids, use very little hair so if your hair is brittle or fragile and can break easy, the microbraids will tear your hair out with them also.

another thing is try not washing the braids so often. once a week should be more then enough. people often get braids to let their hair grow and to not wash them.

also what kind of spray are you using. if you are using a hair spray thats antoher reason your hair is breaking. make sure you use a braid sheen spray. it works better and i will help your hair from breaking. hair spray however will make you hair stiff and easier to tear with the braids.

there can be alot of reasons why, i wouldn't flip out to much. but if you like wearing bradis try getting braids that are about marker size next time to see if you have the same problem.

My hair's in microbraids %26amp; one fell out from the root at the front of my hairline. Now there's a bald spot.

Umm..Try to stop braiding and see if it continues. If it continues contact someone taht knows about hair

My hair's in microbraids %26amp; one fell out from the root at the front of my hairline. Now there's a bald spot.

It's possible that they were too tight. You might what to watch how tight they go in in certain areas, as the hair tends to grow thinner toward the hairline.

I would stop the use of wearing braids. Also, I would talk to your Buety Salon Specilist. She could give you some hair strengthening shampoo, specificaly designed to prevent hairloss, and to strengthen hair. Also, it is important to get the right amount of vitamines and minerals and nutrition in your diet to help keep your hair radiant and strong and healthy. Good luck!

My hair's in microbraids %26amp; one fell out from the root at the front of my hairline. Now there's a bald spot.

with micro braids you have to be careful not to pull them too tightly especially if they are reallly tiny. the hair line is so fragile!. the same thing happened to me when i had micros. no you won't be bald you just have to know how to take care of them! if you have just gotten them done then wait before putting them up in a ponytail or put them in a really loose ponytail. also it can be the person who braids you hair. did you get them professionally done? i got mine professioally done in a african braid shop and you just have to be really care when handling them

My hair's in microbraids %26amp; one fell out from the root at the front of my hairline. Now there's a bald spot.

LOL

My hair's in microbraids %26amp; one fell out from the root at the front of my hairline. Now there's a bald spot.

Whoever is braiding your hair is pulling WAY too tight. Not right now...but you will eventually lose your edges if you keep getting these extremely tight braids. Maybe you should try someone else, with a lighter hand.

Also, you can help the ease pain and pulling with tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is a wonderful oil that is not too greasy and it is known to make your hair grow. Another product to try is Dr.Miracle's Temple and Nape Balm. It was designed specifically for the edges of our hair and over time, you will see that it does work (not as good as tea tree oil, though).

Micro-Braid Hair Care Tips

Micro braids hair style is all about weaving very think braids made by few strands all over the scalp. This black hair style braids is followed by many women who are looking for easier maintenance and faster hair growth. Do not go in for too tiny or very tight braids as it can lead to severe breakage. If you have very long hair or hair that is dry and brittle, then micro braids are not for you. Treat your hair with a hot oil massage and conditioning and moisturizing prior to getting a micro braids hairstyle done.

Regular maintenance of micro braid hairstyle includes routine conditioning and shampooing. Usually this black braid hair style is worn for about 3 months. Ensure that you follow a healthy diet and keep the scalp clean and well conditioned.

My hair's in microbraids %26amp; one fell out from the root at the front of my hairline. Now there's a bald spot.

It sounds like who ever is braiding your hair may be braiding it too tight around your hair line. This is the most fragile hair so you can request that the braider leave it as "baby hair" or put it in with hair behind it that is stronger. Your hair will grow back but you might want to give yourself a break from braids for a while until it grows back. Braids are a very good way of growing your hair but, you really should only leave them in for no more than 2 to 3 months to avoid breakage/damage.

I know you said that you wash your hair a few times a week but, this may be a bit much. Try washining it once a week or once every two weeks. You are probably drying out your hair. Do you use an oil sheen on your scalp/hair? You definately want to continue oiling your scalp with a pomade or spray oil sheen so that it doesn't dry out. You might also try applying conditioner/cholesterol to your scalp after you wash to strengthen your roots. Leave it in for about 10 to 15 minutes and gently rinse with warm water. If you do this your hair should be pretty protected while braided. Good luck!

Blonde pubic hair- not much?

So I dont have much pubic hair..and am naturally blonde. A friend says it's part of the job, is this true? Just a small patch and I trim often.. cleanliness and trimmed are my priorities.

I know some with black hair down there and they said it's alot..enough to braid! WTF do men find this attractive?

Blonde pubic hair- not much?

Is a shame that you don't have much, but at least don't shave the little you have, nothing like a blonde haired vagina

Blonde pubic hair- not much?

Err....they dont find lots of hair attractive generally. Go and look at some porn. Nearly all will be shaved - both men and women - so they can see what's going on more. That is what turns blokes on generally.

Blonde pubic hair- not much?

Neat, clean, and trimmed is the way to go... Or shaved. Braided is not something most men are really into. Go pick up a couple adult men's magazines and see for yourself what is considered "ideal". Keep in mind those women spend a LOT of money to look like that, so don't hold yourself completely to those standards... But the idea is there.

Blonde pubic hair- not much?

No baby you are fine!! Less is best!! Blonde is better!!!

Blonde pubic hair- not much?

more then we needed to know.

Blonde pubic hair- not much?

WTF is right.

Nobody needs to know about the hair on your vagina.

Enjoy the attention you obviously crave.

Blonde pubic hair- not much?

You are doing the right thing. Stay trimmed and clean. Blond hair is much finer than dark hair therefor it will appear that you have less. When you get older you can discuss this subject with your mate what is preferred clean cut or bald. I think a Forrest of hair is unattractive, just my opinion.

What are some things that I can do to help my hair grow, with out taking vitamins or other pills?

I have gotten braids put in so that I could let my hair rest and grow, but when I took them out, it seemed like my hair had goten shorter. However, it did get thicker. I was wondering if there was something I could do to get my hair to grow longer and thicker?

What are some things that I can do to help my hair grow, with out taking vitamins or other pills?

i presume you had micro braids, i hate them....yes they give the hair a rest from constant combing but they do a lot of damage in the process if not done right.

avoid blow drying and putting heat to it if possible(if it's relaxed definitely avoid it) i personally keep my hair moisturized with olive oil and it works for me. I've also just started massaging cayenne pepper and Olive oil on my hair in the morning and washing it out later that night, to promote growth. I'll give it a few months to see if it works if so i'll most definitely let you know.

protective hairstyles are good too, instead of putting micro or weave in your hair, braid your own hair in small braids or even twist it (i do this alot). it gives your hair a rest without all the stress of those tight braids.

but the best advice i could give you is, stay away from heat chemical relaxers and excessive combing, they can be very damaging. if your normal, hair grows about half an inch a month, the reason most don't notice the growth is because the hair breaks of because it's damaged.

What are some things that I can do to help my hair grow, with out taking vitamins or other pills?

well i heard from hair designers and stylists that if you were it down rather than up that it will grow faster

i also heard that for the people that do sports or that excercise if after your done sporting or excercising if you let the sweat on your hair until it drys then the nutrients will help your hair grow faster and maintain its healthy self...after it dries then you can take the shower

What are some things that I can do to help my hair grow, with out taking vitamins or other pills?

Use relaxers less as possible.

If possible switch to a lye relaxer.

Wash and condition the hair weekly with quality products ( I like the Creme of Nature, Doo Gro and, Pantene products).

Once a month get a protein treatment from a salon or use a good deep conditioner like Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonaise.

Eat healthy proteins fruits and vegetables.

Keep the ends trimmed at least every six or eight weeks.

Keep the hair and scalped well moisterized, but not greasy.

Don't use too much heat.

Wrap your hair with a satin cap.

Massage your scalp regularly.

Try not to be under stress.

This is a lot, but it worked for me. Don't be discouraged.

I'm thinking aabout getting micro braids- does anyone know a good brand of hair that i should u

I need a good brand that i can style- a price that wont rape my pockets- and comes in a range of wearable colors (something suitable for my caramel complexion) Oh! how many packs should i buy??

I'm thinking aabout getting micro braids- does anyone know a good brand of hair that i should use?

dont

I'm thinking aabout getting micro braids- does anyone know a good brand of hair that i should use?

I don't know, but when you find out let me know cause I want to get some before I go into labor

Synthetic (Animal) Hair?

Can anyone confirm that synthetic Korean hair used by beauty salons and stylists for length additions and braid styles is generally made of cat, dog and / or horse hair?

Synthetic (Animal) Hair?

well synthetic hair is made out of fibers and things, while if you buy some lower quality human hair it could be diluted with a mixture of animal and synthetic hair to lower the cost. i found an article in wikipedia that can help you.

Synthetic Hair

Synthetic hair is made of a wide array of different synthetic fibers. Synthetic hair, just as human hair, comes in weave (weft) and single strands for braids. Most stylists do not recommend using synthetic hair for weaving because it does not last as long as human hair because it tends to easily tangle and frizz out uncontrollably. However the quality of hair varies greatly, and if well maintained, synthetic hair can look as good as, if not better than human hair. Synthetic hair is much less expensive than human hair. The costs can range from $10.00 to $20.00 per package, depending on quality of hair, length, brand etc.

Heating appliances such as curling irons and straightening combs generally should not be used on synthetic hair. There are newer versions of synthetic hair from some brands that claim to allow styling with lower temperatures of heating appliances. Synthetic hair is usually shaped into styles by using the steam from boiling water to set the hair. This is primarily done for synthetic braids however with the huge array of curly and waved braid styles, the steam or boiling water method is almost redundant. Typically when the synthetic hair is shaped it's best not to change it too much because, as stated earlier, it will tangle and frizz out.

Human Hair

Most human hair used for weaves is derived from the continent of Asia (China, India, and to a very small degree, Southeastern Russia). People in the third world grow their hair for sale to specialty buyers who sell it to manufacturers. Lower-quality "human hair" extensions are often diluted with animal and synthetic hair to lower the price. Yak hair has all the properties of African/African American human hair and can be curled, permed, relaxed, and colored. Human hair is, however, more versatile than synthetic hair because it can be colored, relaxed, or curled with heating appliances just as one would do with his or her own hair. But, many people are allergic to yak hair so suppliers are using human hair treated to mimic the African/African American texture. As the weave wearer would want the hair to match the texture of his/her hair in its present condition (relaxed, curly, or straight), weave hair comes in a variety of textures: yaki (closely resembles relaxed African-American hair texture), silky (resembling very straight Asian hair), European texture hair straight (Europeans do not sell their hair, so called "European hair" comes from India and China), curly (ranges from tight corkscrew curls to the varying degrees of wavy), and crimped (very small, sharp waves). There are different grades of hair. The highest grade comes from young donors, is gently processed, careful not to damage the cuticles, and of "Remy" designation. Remy means the hair's cuticles are facing the direction in which they grew. Poorly processed hair can also be Remy. Let the buyer beware.

The same maintenance that one would apply to his or her own hair should be applied to the human hair to keep it in good condition.

High quality 100% human hair is more expensive than hair mixed with other materials (synthetic hair is most common).

i hope this helps you out.

Help i need my hair to grow quick?

i recently got my hair cut about an inch. my mom made me a promise that if my hair is long enough [ about 2 inches] i can get it braided which i really need. i have untill late august for it to grow because im starting high school. and dont tell me not to worry about my hair because people have been making fun of mine my whole life. please gice me some help asap

Help i need my hair to grow quick?

An inch isn't that much but since you want to grow it out some more, I would recommend doing a couple easy things-

1. buy some Olay vitamins...they're good for skin, hair, and nails.

2. drink at least 8 glasses of water a day

3. and lastly, massage your scalp for 3 minutes, twice a day. I know that sounds funny but it's supposed to increase circulation to the hair follicles.

Good luck!

Help i need my hair to grow quick?

sorry to tell you this but you cant make your hair grow faster..the good thing is that hair usually grows faster in the summer....youre lucky.

Help i need my hair to grow quick?

i know it sounds weird but start taking prenatal vitamins the help your hair and nails grow very fast

Help i need my hair to grow quick?

this is wut i did: at the time my hair was too short to get braided so i went to this store (black store) and bought some unbraided hair and added that onto my real hair and that helped me be able to wear braids..... i left em in for 2 months and took em out bought some more...this time i didnt have to put braids in .....that was in the 8 th grade now im a senior i still do the same thing and i have thick kindo of long hair.... just keep doing this through out the year and it will grow.... :)

Help i need my hair to grow quick?

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

Curly Hair???

What I do when I want my hair to be curly I get my hair wet and put some type of moose in it and srunch my hair up every now and then and to make it stay I use some hair spray and just keep srunching it up every now and then. If your hair is not naturally curly then to keep your hair curly, when its wet use those burett clips I think thats what there called and just use some hairspary and after a while take the clips out and scrunch it. I hope that this helped.

Curly Hair???

hey girl. i have extremely curly hair, and i use the herbal essence totally twisted products. they work anazingly! then, when ur hair is dry, curl it with an iron and then brush it out A LITTLE BIT! u dont want it to look extremly frizzy. then use some herbal essence gel or mousse to tame it.

hope u have a good night!

Curly Hair???

For curls...you gotta try Mixed Chicks products. It is pretty simple. You shampoo, deep condition, then put their leave-in conditioner on your hair wet and air dry. That is it. (http://www.mixedchicks.net)

And if you do iron or blowing a lot. You can skip the air dry step and just put a but of the leave-in on the tips before applying heat.

Keep an eye on this company. They are going to be on the show...Extra in the next few days.

MEN: Do you like natural hair on a black woman?

Unpermed, unstraightened-- either an afro, or twists or braids, or some type of natural look. I wear my hair natural and at first, everyone tried to talk me out of it. I get mixed responses. Some love it while some just stare and like I said, some tried to talk me out of it.

I'm just wondering from men (any race), Do you like natural hair on black women? Does hair texture stop you from dating someone? Honestly.

Thanks

MEN: Do you like natural hair on a black woman?

I say go natural, i'm latin american, I say afro mmh

MEN: Do you like natural hair on a black woman?

good question!! im curious about the responses too!

MEN: Do you like natural hair on a black woman?

That's a good question! I wonder what the answers are gonna be...

MEN: Do you like natural hair on a black woman?

I personally prefer it straightened, but some girls pull off the afro really well. Just depends on her.

MEN: Do you like natural hair on a black woman?

well it depends in what style she really looks good.

but some black woman

are really attractive with their natural hair.

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

hi, i am thinking about getting a long weave for a change, I usually get braids but it takes to long. I was wondering if the hair can be re used again. I know there are certain types of hair out there that are better than others, if you could name some good ones that would be very helpful.

I have Afro hair

thanks

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

You are right about the types of hair being different. Synthetic hair (which I don't advise you to use but it is cheaper) should not be used again. It gets matted and is very hard to manage and if you try to wash it it will smell. Now there is human hair which can be washed, but I would only rewash that twice because although you can get longer wear out of it that will start to smell as well. Bottom line

Synthetic= do not wash wear once good luck

Human= use 2x comb out let air dry then get rid of it

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

When I had hair extensions my stylists used them maybe 2 times before they were no good every 4-5 months. It was nice because I didn't have to pay for new hair every time I wanted a little touch up or if they were looking dull. If you keep them up nicely and don't let them turn into a rats nest then you can reuse them. I don't remember the name of it but I do know that it was human hair that she used on me.

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

It really depends on if you got the real hair or the fake hair and if you glue it or sew it. If you sew it and get the real hair you can re-use it again, just make sure when you wash it it is completely dry when you wash it! Good luck!

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

i don't think it would be good to re-use the weave better to get new tracks, i don't wear weave just seen a lotta other girls use it and talk on it

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

I really don't suggest this unless the hair is still in great condition. Perhaps a few of the old tracks could be doubled up with new ones to create volume and density. Also if you are getting braids the hair is loose, not on a weft. It sounds like you need to order wefts now. These are totally different types of hair. Your tech should be your best source for hair. They have companies that they like for hair and can give you the exact level and tones you want to order.

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

Cor. Don't be so mean to yourself. Just buy a new one.......thats probably why so many women have such tatty weaves - they've been continually regurgitated!!!!!!

Can any black women offer tips on keeping my hair healthy and still pretty (as always) while im preg

I hear alot of rumors like, no more relaxers...don't wash it often...get braids....and im just such a prick about my hair. It's sooo pretty every since i got pregnant but I do notice I need a touch up more often. some say because it grows while pregnant. I just need some advice, HELP!

Can any black women offer tips on keeping my hair healthy and still pretty (as always) while im pregnant?

I think hair is at it's best while you're pregnant due to the heightened hormones. Your hair grows faster, it's thicker, it's shinier and it's so much you can do to it when it's in that stage. The only problem is after you have the baby, it will shed and return back to it's normal state as your hormone level lowers. I heard alot of the rumors too when I was pregnant but then I asked my doctor and was told that there was nothing wrong with getting a relaxer. And once I heard that, I kept up my normal beauty regimen and my hair stayed healthy and grew longer. So if you decide to continue getting a relaxer, the best option would be to go to your beautician and have HER do your perms. The box perms are nice, but the beauticians have perms that are more professional, don't have to be left on the hair for a longer period of time, and they give longer lasting results. Doctors do advice that women do not dye their hair, but if you feel like you want to add some color to your crown of glory, there are semi-permanent rinses that you can ask your beautician to put on your hair. They are ammonia-free, are totally safe, and last for like seven shampoos. They range in colors from Jet-Black to Honey Blond to Reddish-Red. And if you want everyone to see your hair (and not hide it behind braids) you can always try Twistie's, a Doobie Roller Wrap, Roller Rod Wet-Sets, or a cute Ponytail. Just treat your hair like you normally did before you got pregnant. Wash your hair twice a week, use a moisturizing shampoo, deep condition, and use leave-in conditioner. Just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you have to stop being the hair queen that you are. Girl, rock that hair, sport them cute pregnancy clothes, and enjoy carrying God's gift. Check your shoulders from time to time to make sure there not getting raw from brushing them hata's off too much, okay. :-) Good luck and congrats.

What's a good hair color (highlights) for someone with light/medium caramel skin?

I'm really getting tired of my plain o' dark brown hair. I need change! I'm thinkin' of mixin' things up with a few highlights. What do yall think would be a good color?

I have...

dark brown- big eyes

light caramel skin (think Halle Berry or Alicia Keys)

Mid-back length, currently layered hair. Most of the time its straightened, but sometimes I have braids.

Nothing crazy, please!

And a lil question - anyone mixed with black and white ever gotten highlights? I wanna know if it causes any damage or dryness on this hair type. (Curly in the back, not-totally-straight but somewhat in the front, frizzy everywhere)

Thanks!!!

What's a good hair color (highlights) for someone with light/medium caramel skin?

u wud look soooooo pretty with caramel or almond~!

What's a good hair color (highlights) for someone with light/medium caramel skin?

i think it would look cool to get like a browny red color to bring out ut eyes and really make ur skin pop!! good luck

What's a good hair color (highlights) for someone with light/medium caramel skin?

all over light brown painted. painting is a new hair technique similar to highlights but better and more natural looking. Try not straightening it a few days out of every week and see hoe you like it.

What's a good hair color (highlights) for someone with light/medium caramel skin?

Im mixed with blak and white and i got highlights like 2 months ago and gurl it didnt mess up my hair the way you discribe it your hair is the same as minez so like i would try to go with "abroy blonde" or natural blonde. And gurl change iz a good thing!!!

What's a good hair color (highlights) for someone with light/medium caramel skin?

platinummmmm........looks GREAT on tan skinned people

What's a good hair color (highlights) for someone with light/medium caramel skin?

I think that you should go with honey blonde highlights or if you want to change your hair color completely you should try maybe a deep cherry color (if you're into reds) or a deep copper. or if you want to go lighter, try honey blonde with light-brown highlights.

new hair colors and/or highlights will also bring out your eyes.

Wow. Sounds like you have a pretty nice outfit there. Go for it! However, if you want to stand out, then maybe a fairy is not such a good idea, since many others will likely choose to become fairies.

oh, and as a green garden fairy, green makeup is probably better.

How should i wear my hair and makeup as a fairy for Halloween?

I'd suggest straightening your hair and leaving it down.

How should i wear my hair and makeup as a fairy for Halloween?

Wear you hair in a BUN! Like TINKERBELL!
